Part of the Greater Toronto Area metropolitan area, Airport is a neighbourhood within Mississauga, Ontario.

Transportation

Travelling by public transit is easy in Airport owing to plenty of rapid transit stations with access to the 109 | Meadowvale Express, and about 20 nearby bus lines. On the other hand, moving around by bicycle is challenging in Airport because there is a considerable amount of elevation changes, and there are very few bike lanes. It is challenging for pedestrians to navigate this part of Mississauga as most daily needs are inconvenient to meet by walking. In contrast, Airport is very car friendly. It is very easy to park, and nearby highways, such as Highway 401, are easy to access from any home in Airport.

Services

In the majority of cases, a vehicle is needed in Airport to access the closest grocery store. There are a limited number of choices for those who value restaurants and cafes in close proximity. As far as education is concerned, there are no high schools and no primary schools in Airport. In addition, families may find it very hard to access daycares as a pedestrian.

Character

There is a great variety of green spaces in Airport. There are a few public green spaces nearby for residents to unwind in, such as Wood Creek and Centennial Park, making it easy to reach them. This part of the city can be rather noisy, as traffic during busier hours of the day can occasionally be loud.

Housing

In Airport, about 45% of dwellings are large apartment buildings, whereas the rest are mainly single detached homes and townhouses. This area has a good selection of unit sizes, ranging from lofts to four or more bedrooms. There are equal parts renters and owners living in this neighbourhood. This neighbourhood did not experience a single building boom; the construction of new buildings in Airport was spread throughout several decades in the twentieth and twenty-first century.
