Transportation

Cars are a very good transportation option in this part of the city. Many real estate listings are a rather short drive from the closest highway, such as Highway 404, and it is convenient to find a parking spot. However, this part of Markham is not very transit friendly. Nevertheless, the neighbourhood is linked by around 10 bus lines, and bus stops are not very far from most homes. Bicycling is convenient in Catchet. This area is not particularly well-suited for walking because carrying out daily needs is occasionally challenging.

Services

Shopping for one's groceries very often requires the use of a car in this neighbourhood. Nevertheless, pharmacies are typically convenient to reach on foot and sell some staple foods. A limited variety of restaurants and coffee shops is available as well. As far as education is concerned, parents and their kids will appreciate the proximity to daycares and schools, which are within walking distance from most, if not all, properties for sale in this area. Parents have the choice between public and private schools at both the primary and secondary school level.

Character

The character of Catchet is exemplified by its calm atmosphere. This neighbourhood is reasonably good for those who like quiet surroundings, as there are low levels of noise from traffic - although that is not the case around Highway 404. Finally, there are about 10 parks close by for residents to explore and they are especially well-spread out, making it easy to reach them from a lot of locations in Catchet.

Housing

Single detached homes are the most common housing type, representing many dwellings in Catchet, and the rest of the dwellings are mainly townhouses. This area is especially good for those looking for four or more bedroom homes. Homeowners occupy roughly 85% of the properties in Catchet whereas the rest are rented. About half of homes in this neighbourhood were built in the 1990s, while most of the remaining buildings were constructed in the 2000s.
