The neighbourhood of Forest Hill is part of the city of Kitchener, Ontario, which is located in the Kitchener - Cambridge - Waterloo metropolitan area.

Transportation

Commuting by bicycle is convenient in this part of Kitchener since there are a fair number of bike lanes. Travelling on foot is also feasible for property owners in Forest Hill; running common errands is convenient. Travelling by transit can be occasionally difficult in this part of the city as a result of the infrequent service. Nevertheless, the neighbourhood is linked by a few bus lines, and most homes are very close to a bus stop. On the other hand, the car is usually the best method of transportation in this area. It is convenient to park, and it is a reasonably short car ride to the nearest highway, such as Highway 7 & 8, from anywhere in this part of Kitchener.

Services

Families will value that wherever their house is located in this neighbourhood, both primary and secondary schools are close by. On the other hand, daycares are not particularly abundant and accordingly tend to require an extended walk to get to. When it comes to eating, house buyers in this area will be pleased to learn that a grocery store is always only a reasonably short walk away. Residents benefit from a few restaurants and coffee shops as well.

Character

Forest Hill is a good neighbourhood to buy a home in for those who prefer a slower-paced environment. Green spaces are very well-distributed and there are around 10 of them nearby for residents to explore, which makes it very easy to access them. The noise levels in this part of Kitchener are also low, as the streets tend to be calm - although that is not the case close to Highway 7 & 8.

Housing

Single detached homes are the most common housing type, representing about 60% of buildings in Forest Hill, and the rest of the houses are mainly large apartment buildings. This part of Kitchener also has a good selection of unit sizes - it is quite easy to find houses ranging from lofts to four or more bedrooms. Roughly 60% of the population of this neighbourhood own their home and 40% are renters. Most of the housing growth in this area occurred in the 1960s and 1970s.
