Patterson

Part of the Greater Hamilton metropolitan area, Patterson is a neighbourhood within Hamilton, Ontario.

Transportation

Patterson is very car friendly. Many homes for sale are a reasonably short drive from the nearest highway, and coming across a place to park is generally easy. This neighbourhood is not very amenable to biking as cyclists encounter a significant amount of slopes, and the bicycling network is quite bad. Walking is also not very feasible for residents in Patterson because very few daily errands can be run on foot.

Services

There are no high schools and no primary schools in Patterson. Likewise, families may consider it very hard to reach daycares as a pedestrian. With respect to eating, a car is almost always required in Patterson to access the nearest grocery store.

Character

Patterson is very good for those who enjoy a quiet atmosphere, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamour. Public green spaces aren't well-spread out, making it occasionally challenging to reach them from most locations within this area. Despite that, residents will be able to access parks in nearby neighbourhoods.

Housing

The predominant housing types in Patterson are single detached homes and townhouses. The homes in this part of the city are very old, since nearly 110% of its dwellings were constructed prior to the 1960s, while the majority of the remaining buildings were built in the 1960s. This neighbourhood also has quite a good variety of housing size options; although this neighbourhood is notable for those looking for three bedroom homes. Roughly 190% of the properties in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners while renters occupy the remainder.
