Located within the Greater Toronto Area metropolitan area, Lakeview is a neighbourhood in Mississauga, Ontario.

Transportation

The favoured method to move around in this part of Mississauga is very often a car. The majority of properties for sale are a rather short car ride from the nearest highway, such as Queen Elizabeth Way, and coming across a parking spot is quite easy. On the other hand, Lakeview is not particularly transit friendly. Nevertheless, there are a few bus lines, and it is very easy to find a nearby bus stop from most homes. Lakeview is quite bicycling-friendly. In contrast, travelling by foot is not very common in this part of Mississauga, even though many daily errands can be run without the use of a vehicle.

Services

The nearest supermarket in this part of the city is typically only a reasonably short walk away. There are a few grocery stores in this neighbourhood, and the best variety can be found on streets like Lakeshore Road. There are also a limited number of opportunities for those who value restaurants and cafes within walking distance. As far as education is concerned, parents and their kids will appreciate that wherever their house is located in Lakeview, daycares and schools are nearby.

Character

People who prefer a slower-paced ambience will enjoy Lakeview. This area is quiet, as the streets are usually quite calm - however noise can be bothersome around the railway line or Queen Elizabeth Way. Lastly, public green spaces, like Etobicoke Valley Park and Lakeview Park, are very well-spread out and there are about 40 of them close by for residents to discover, which makes it very easy to reach them from the majority of locations in the neighbourhood.

Housing

Around 40% of properties in Lakeview were built in the 1960s and 1970s, while most of the remaining buildings were built pre-1960. Single detached homes are the most common housing type, representing roughly half of dwellings in this area, while the rest are mainly large apartment buildings.
