Transportation

Mineola is an extraordinarily good part of Mississauga for moving around by car. It is a rather short car ride to the closest highway, such as Queen Elizabeth Way, from any home in Mineola, and accessing a place to park is easy. In contrast, this neighbourhood is not very transit friendly. Thankfully, house owners can depend on the Port Credit with access to the Lakeshore West. There are a few bus lines traversing the neighbourhood, and the nearest bus stop is generally very close. There are relatively few pedestrians out on the streets of this part of the city, although many daily needs are convenient to meet without having to use a vehicle. In contrast, the bike is a fairly good method of transportation in Mineola.

Services

It is a reasonably short walk to reach daycares and schools from most homes for sale in this part of Mississauga. Families have the choice between public and private primary schools. With respect to eating, it is convenient to access the closest supermarket by walking in Mineola. There are also a few restaurants and cafes in this part of Mississauga.

Character

Mineola is a very good neighbourhood to buy a house in for those who prefer a slower-paced ambience. The noise levels in this part of Mississauga are very low, as the streets are usually very peaceful around the railway line or Queen Elizabeth Way. Lastly, there are approximately 20 public green spaces nearby for residents to explore, including Port Credit Secondary (Ps) and Dellwood Park, and they are very well-distributed, which makes them easy to get to from most locations within this neighbourhood.

Housing

The homes in this neighbourhood are quite old, since roughly 40% of its dwellings were constructed pre-1960, while the majority of the remaining buildings were built in the 1960s and the 2000s. The large proportion of single detached homes in the housing stock of this part of the city is an important part of its character. Roughly 90% of the properties in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners while renters occupy the remainder. This area is primarily composed of three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes.
