The neighbourhood of Hornby can be found in the town of Halton Hills, Ontario, which is located in the Greater Toronto Area metropolitan area.

Transportation

This area is an extremely convenient part of Halton Hills for travelling by car. It is very easy to park, and the street network is quite amenable to getting around by car. In contrast, commuting by public transit is difficult in Hornby. Nevertheless, homeowners are served by a few bus lines, and it is very convenient to get to a nearby bus stop from most properties. Hornby is not very suited for bicycling as there are few bike lanes. Nonetheless, cycling is more practical in some areas than others, and there are a limited number of hills. Walking in Hornby is not very popular, despite the fact that running common errands is easy by walking.

Services

There are only a few primary schools in Hornby and thus they can be an extended walk away. Furthermore, this part of the town does not have any high schools. In addition, it can be very hard to get to daycares as a pedestrian. When it comes to eating, house buyers in this neighbourhood almost always have to use a vehicle to reach the nearest grocery store. Nevertheless, it is generally a short walk to the closest pharmacy, which can supply some basic food items. There are also a few restaurants and coffee shops in this neighbourhood.

Character

There are a lot of green spaces to enjoy in Hornby. Parks are easy to reach since there are a few of them close by for residents to discover. Lastly, this area is a great neighbourhood for those who aren't bothered by some noise, as traffic can occasionally be loud during busy hours.

Housing

Around 80% of the population of this neighbourhood own their home whereas renters make up the remainder. Single detached homes and row houses are the predominant housing type in this part of the town. About one third of properties in this area were built in the 1960s and 1970s, while the majority of the remaining buildings were constructed pre-1960 and in the 1980s.
