Etobicoke is a former municipality within Toronto, Ontario, which is located in the Greater Toronto Area metropolitan area.

Transportation

Etobicoke affords home buyers several alternative methods of transportation. This former municipality is transit friendly. For instance, house owners can rely on the Etobicoke North, Long Branch and Mimico with access to the Lakeshore West Line, Milton Line and GT | Kitchener. Commuters profit from plenty of rapid transit stations on the 109 | Meadowvale Express and Bloor - Danforth Line. There are over 50 bus lines crossing the former municipality, and the closest bus stop is generally just around the corner. Etobicoke is also quite well-suited for those who travel by foot; many daily needs can be met without the use of a car. Cycling is convenient in Etobicoke.

Daycares and schools are convenient to reach on foot from most houses for sale in Etobicoke. With respect to eating, the nearest supermarket in this area is usually only a reasonably short walk away. Character

Etobicoke is a reasonably good former municipality to buy a home in for those who prefer a slower-paced environment. Greenery is present in this part of Toronto as most streets have fairly good tree coverage. There are over 400 parks nearby for residents to explore, including Islington Golf Club and Centennial Park, making it very easy to get to them. This former municipality is also quiet, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamour - however some areas can be quite noisy, especially near one of the railway lines, F G Gardiner Expressway, Highway 427 or the airport (YYZ).

Housing

The majority of the housing stock of Etobicoke consists of single detached homes and large apartment buildings, and the rest of the properties are mainly small apartment buildings. This part of Toronto offers mainly three bedroom and two bedroom homes. Roughly 60% of the units in the former municipality are occupied by homeowners and 40% are rented. About one third of homes in this part of the city were built in the 1960s and 1970s, while many of the remaining buildings were constructed pre-1960 and in the 2000s.
