Character

The character of Etobicoke is exemplified by its slower-paced environment. Most areas in this part of Toronto are quiet, as there are usually low levels of noise from traffic - although that is not the case closer to the airport (Wilson`s Heliport), one of the railway lines, Highway 409 or Queen Elizabeth Way. Lastly, there is a fair amount of greenery in this part of the city; green spaces, like Thistletown Park and South Humber Park, are very well-located and there are over 500 of them close by for residents to discover, which makes them very easy to get to. Residents will also find that many tree-lined streets are around.

This part of the city offers mainly three bedroom and two bedroom homes. Roughly 60% of the units in the former municipality are occupied by homeowners while the remainder are rented. This part of the city did not experience a single building boom; the construction of new dwellings in Etobicoke was spread throughout multiple decades in recent history.
