Transportation

This area presents homeowners with several alternative modes of transportation. Many of the homes for sale in this neighbourhood are located in places that are suitable for walking; most daily needs are convenient to meet without the use of a car, and plenty of businesses are close by. However, travelling by bicycle is occasionally difficult in this area as the bicycling infrastructure is not very well-developed, and the terrain is not particularly flat. With approximately 10 nearby bus lines, the fairly good public transit access allows people to get to many destinations without needing a vehicle. Dorset Park is also a very convenient part of Toronto for driving. It is convenient to come across a parking spot, and most homes for sale are a reasonably short car ride from the nearest highway, such as Highway 401.

The nearest supermarket in this neighbourhood is typically only a short walk away. Furthermore, there is often a restaurant or cafe in close proximity. Character

Dorset Park is a fairly good neighbourhood to buy a house in for those who prefer a relaxed atmosphere. There is not that much greenery in this area; to be more specific, residents will find that the tree canopy coverage for the majority of streets is below average. However, there are about 20 parks nearby for residents to explore, such as Ellesmere Yard - Building Grounds and Scarborough Hydro Green Space, making them very easy to get to. Most areas in this part of Toronto are quiet, as the streets are generally reasonably tranquil - however noise can be bothersome around Highway 401 or one of the railway lines.

Housing

The majority of the housing stock of Dorset Park consists of single detached homes and large apartment buildings, and the rest of the properties are mainly townhouses. This neighbourhood has a good selection of housing size options, ranging from lofts to four or more bedrooms.
