The community of Shearwater is part of the municipality of Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Transportation

Shearwater is especially car friendly. Coming across a place to park is generally easy. In contrast, commuting by public transit is difficult in Shearwater. Thankfully, the community is linked by a few bus lines, and the closest bus stop is generally just around the corner. This part of Halifax is not very conducive to those who travel by foot since very few daily errands can be run without having to use a car. Shearwater is also not particularly bike-friendly as there are few bike lanes, and there is a significant amount of hills. Nonetheless, riding a bike is reasonably popular.

Services

Doing one's groceries usually demands the use of a car in Shearwater. Conversely, a cafe is typically a rather short stroll away. Concerning education, there are no high schools and no primary schools in Shearwater. Additionally, daycares are not numerous and accordingly tend to require a very long walk to get to.
