The neighbourhood of Riverside is part of the municipality of Halifax, Nova Scotia, which is situated in the Greater Halifax metropolitan area.

Transportation

The car is very often the best method to get around in this area. Most houses for sale are a very short drive from the nearest highway, and accessing a parking spot is quite easy. However, the public transit infrastructure in this neighbourhood is rather poor. Nevertheless, residents are served by a few bus lines, and bus stops are not very far from most homes. Biking is challenging in this area because the bicycling infrastructure is sometimes poor, and the area is not very flat. Walking is also not especially feasible for residents in this neighbourhood because carrying out daily needs is occasionally challenging without a vehicle.

Services

It is very easy to get to the nearest supermarket as a pedestrian from most homes for sale in Riverside. There are also a limited number of choices for those who appreciate restaurants within a short distance. With respect to education, in this area, parents and their children will usually be able to get to secondary schools and daycares by walking. In contrast, there are no primary schools in Riverside.

Character

The character of Riverside is exemplified by its slower-paced environment. Numerous locations in the neighbourhood have good access to green spaces, including Range Park, since there are a few of them nearby for residents to unwind in. This area is also reasonably quiet, as the streets tend to be quite tranquil.

Housing

About one quarter of properties in Riverside were constructed in the 1990s, while the majority of the remaining buildings were constructed pre-1960 and in the 1960s.
