The community of Porters Lake can be found in the municipality of Halifax, Nova Scotia, which is situated in the Greater Halifax metropolitan area.

Transportation

Cars are a great mode of transportation in this part of the municipality. It is especially convenient to come across a parking spot, and the majority of properties for sale are a rather short drive from the nearest highway. However, travelling by public transit is difficult in Porters Lake. Thankfully, there are a few bus lines, and it is very convenient to find a nearby bus stop from most houses. Traveling by foot is not very practical for house buyers in Porters Lake as running day-to-day errands is impractical without needing a car. This part of the municipality is also not very bicycling-friendly as there are quite a few elevation changes, and the cycling network is not very comprehensive.

Services

Property owners in this community almost always have to rely on a vehicle to shop for groceries. There are also a few choices for those who appreciate close by restaurants. With respect to education, in Porters Lake, families will usually be able to reach daycares by walking.
