Lake Echo

The community of Lake Echo is part of the municipality of Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Transportation

Travelling by car is very easy in this part of Halifax. It is very easy to park. On the other hand, Lake Echo is not very transit friendly. Thankfully, residents have access to a few bus lines, and it is very easy to get to a nearby bus stop from most houses. The bicycle is a quite bad method of transportation in this part of Halifax as there are very few bike lanes, and there are a good number of slopes. Lake Echo is also not very suitable for walking since carrying out daily needs is almost impossible.

Services

It is a reasonably short walk to get to daycares from any location in Lake Echo. On the other hand, there are only a very small number of primary schools in this area and thus they can be a very long walk away. In addition, Lake Echo does not contain any high schools. As far as eating is concerned, purchasing one's groceries very often demands the use of a car in this area. A limited selection of restaurants is available in this community.

Character

Most areas in Lake Echo are very quiet, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamour. Reaching parks is sometimes hard in the community since they aren't well-spread out. Still, there are a few public green spaces close by for residents to check out.

Housing

In Lake Echo, the overwhelming majority of dwellings are single detached homes, and the rest of the properties are mainly mobile homes. Around one third of properties in this area were built in the 1960s and 1970s, while most of the remaining buildings were constructed in the 1980s and the 1990s.
