The neighbourhood of Fleetwood is part of the city of Surrey, British Columbia, which is situated in the Metro Vancouver metropolitan area.

Transportation

The car is often the favoured way to navigate this part of Surrey. Parking is easy. On the other hand, the public transit service in this part of the city is not very frequent. Thankfully, there are a few bus lines, and bus stops are typically nearby. It is sometimes difficult to get around by bicycle in this part of the city because there is a considerable amount of hills, and there are a limited number of bike lanes. There are also relatively few pedestrians out on the streets of this area, although many daily needs can be carried out on foot.

Services

Getting to the nearest supermarket by walking is practical for some, but not all, property owners in this area. A limited number of restaurants and coffee shops can be found as well. As far as education is concerned, parents and their kids will value that wherever their home is situated in Fleetwood, daycares and schools are nearby.

Character

Fleetwood is a very good neighbourhood to buy a home in for those who prefer a calm ambience. There are over 100 public green spaces nearby for residents to explore, including Charles Richardson Nature Reserve and Enver Creek Park, and they are very well-situated, which results in them being very easy to reach from numerous locations within this area. This neighbourhood is very quiet overall, as the streets are generally very peaceful.

Housing

Single detached homes are the main housing type, representing around one third of dwellings in Fleetwood, while small apartment buildings, duplexes, and townhouses are also present in the housing stock. This area offers mainly three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes. About three quarters of the properties in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners whereas the remainder are rented. The homes in this part of Surrey are very new, since around one third of its dwellings were built between 1990 and 2000, while the majority of the remaining buildings were built in the 1960s and the 1980s.
