Long Lake-Linley Valley is an extremely good part of Nanaimo for getting around by car. It is a rather short drive to the nearest highway from anywhere in this neighbourhood, and it is especially convenient to come across a place to park. On the other hand, this part of the city is not very transit friendly. Nevertheless, there are about 10 bus lines, and the nearest bus stop is generally very close. This part of the city is not particularly conducive to those who travel by foot as running daily errands is occasionally difficult.

It is a rather short walk to reach daycares and primary schools from most properties for sale in Long Lake-Linley Valley. In contrast, it can be difficult to access high schools as a pedestrian.
