On the other hand, there are no high schools in this neighbourhood. When it comes to eating, in all cases, a car is required in Westmount to reach the nearest grocery store.

Character

The character of Westmount is exemplified by its slower-paced environment. Public green spaces are very easy to get to since there are a few of them close by for residents to unwind in. This neighbourhood is reasonably quiet overall, as there tend to be low levels of noise from traffic - however some parts can be quite noisy, especially around Trans-Canada Highway or the railway line.

The predominant housing types in Westmount are single detached homes and townhouses. This part of the municipality is primarily composed of three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes. Around 80% of the population of this neighbourhood own their home while renters make up the remainder. This part of the municipality did not experience a single building boom; the construction of new dwellings in Westmount was spread throughout multiple decades in recent history.
