Part of the Metro Vancouver metropolitan area, Renfrew is a neighbourhood within Vancouver, British Columbia.

Transportation

Renfrew allows homeowners to move around by a variety of modes of transportation. Home buyers who want to live in a compact community will welcome the reasonably pedestrian-friendly character of this neighbourhood; running common errands is easy without a vehicle, and plenty of businesses are fairly close at hand. A fair number of residents in the area use their bicycle because the cycling network is extensive. Renfrew benefits from a very good transit system thanks to a multitude of nearby rapid transit stations on the Millennium Line and Expo Line, and about 10 nearby bus lines. This area is also rather car friendly. It is a reasonably short car ride to the closest highway, such as Trans-Canada Highway, from any location in this neighbourhood.

Services

Schools and daycares are very easy to access as a pedestrian from most homes for sale in Renfrew. Along with public schools, there are private primary and secondary schools. In terms of food, it is usually an option for house buyers in Renfrew to purchase general and specialty groceries by walking. Moreover, Renfrew is a fairly good place in which to go out to eat, and a small variety of cafes is available as well.

Character

People who prefer a calm environment will enjoy Renfrew. This part of Vancouver is fairly good for those who prefer quiet surroundings, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamour - however noise can be bothersome around one of the railway lines or Trans-Canada Highway. Lastly, it is very easy to get to parks in the neighbourhood since there are a few of them nearby for residents to explore.

Housing

In Renfrew, roughly half of dwellings are duplexes, but small apartment buildings and single detached homes are also present in the housing stock. About one quarter of properties in this area were built following the year 2000, while the majority of the remaining buildings were built pre-1960 and in the 1960s.
