Part of the Metro Vancouver metropolitan area, Altamont is a neighbourhood within West Vancouver, British Columbia.

Transportation

Driving is very often the preferred method to navigate Altamont. It is very easy to park, and nearby highways, such as Trans-Canada Highway, are easy to reach from anywhere in Altamont. However, travelling by public transit is challenging in this area. Nonetheless, house owners are served by a few bus lines, and bus stops are not very far-removed from most homes. Altamont is not very conducive to cycling as the bicycling infrastructure is not very well-developed, and there are quite a few slopes. Altamont is also not very suitable for pedestrians because very few common errands can be run without a vehicle.

Services

Primary schools and daycares are straightforward to get to by foot from any location in Altamont. On the other hand, there are no high schools in Altamont. Regarding food, a car is almost always needed in this part of West Vancouver to access the nearest grocery store.
