Transportation

Driving is very often the preferred method to navigate Altamont. It is very easy to park, and nearby highways, such as Trans-Canada Highway, are easy to reach from anywhere in Altamont. However, travelling by public transit is challenging in this area. Nonetheless, house owners are served by a few bus lines, and bus stops are not very far-removed from most homes. Altamont is not very conducive to cycling as the bicycling infrastructure is not very well-developed, and there are quite a few slopes. Altamont is a fairly good neighbourhood to buy a home in for those who prefer a calm atmosphere. This area is reasonably quiet, as there are generally low levels of noise from traffic - although that is not the case near the railway line or Trans-Canada Highway. Lastly, parks are very easy to get to since there are approximately 10 of them close by for residents to explore.

Housing

In Altamont, roughly 85% of buildings are single detached homes, while duplexes are also present in the housing stock.
