Westview

The neighbourhood of Westview is part of the city of City of North Vancouver, British Columbia, which is situated in the Metro Vancouver metropolitan area.

Transportation

Traveling as a pedestrian is reasonably feasible for home buyers in Westview; carrying out daily needs is easy without a car, and there are also a good number of businesses in proximity. On the other hand, the bicycle is a somewhat poor mode of transportation in Westview because the bicycling network is not especially comprehensive, and there is a significant amount of hills. Nevertheless, bicycling is rather popular, and certain pleasant pockets for cycling can be found. Getting around by car is very convenient in Westview. It is easy to access a parking spot, and most homes for sale are a very short drive from the nearest highway, such as Trans-Canada Highway. However, the public transit service in Westview is not very frequent. Nevertheless, the neighbourhood is served by a few bus lines, and most residences are very close to a bus stop.

Services

It is a short walk to get to daycares and schools from most properties for sale in Westview. At the elementary level, both public and private schools can be found. In terms of food, it is very easy to reach both a general and a specialty grocery store on foot from any home in this part of City of North Vancouver. Moreover, there is commonly a restaurant or cafe just around the corner.

Character

The character of Westview is exemplified by its relaxed atmosphere. This part of the city is reasonably quiet, as the streets are usually quite peaceful - however noise can be problematic near Trans-Canada Highway. Finally, public green spaces are very well-situated and there are a few of them nearby for residents to discover, which makes it very easy to reach them from most locations in Westview.

Housing

In Westview, around 30% of dwellings are small apartment buildings, while duplexes and single detached homes are the main alternatives in the housing stock. About 40% of properties in this area were constructed in the 1960s and 1970s, while most of the remaining buildings were built pre-1960 and in the 2000s. This part of City of North Vancouver is primarily composed of two bedroom and three bedroom homes. Around 70% of the population of this neighbourhood own their home whereas the remainder are renters.
