Central Chilliwack is a neighbourhood within Chilliwack, British Columbia, which is located in the Greater Chilliwack metropolitan area.

Transportation

Physically active property owners will be pleased with the pedestrian-friendly character of this part of the city; many common errands can be run on foot. Commuting by car is very easy in this area. Many homes for sale are a reasonably short car ride from the nearest highway, such as Trans-Canada Highway, and finding a place to park is quite easy. However, the public transit service in this part of Chilliwack is not very frequent. Thankfully, there are around 10 bus lines, and bus stops are ordinarily nearby.

Services

It is easy to get to the nearest grocery store by walking in Central Chilliwack. A small number of restaurants and cafes can be found as well. With regards to education, parents and their children will value the proximity to schools and daycares, which are within walking distance from most homes for sale in Central Chilliwack.

Character

Central Chilliwack is quiet overall, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamour - however some parts can be quite noisy, especially closer to the airport (YCW), Trans-Canada Highway or one of the railway lines. Green spaces aren't well-situated, which makes them very hard to access.

Housing

Around 55% of the population of this neighbourhood own their home while the rest are renters. In this part of the city, about 40% of buildings are small apartment buildings, and the remainder are mainly single detached homes and townhouses. About 30% of homes in this area were constructed in the 1960s and 1970s, while most of the remaining buildings were constructed pre-1960 and in the 1980s. This neighbourhood also has a good variety of housing size options; it is quite easy to find properties ranging from lofts to four or more bedrooms.
