Burnaby Lake

The neighbourhood of Burnaby Lake is part of the city of Burnaby, British Columbia, which is located in the Metro Vancouver metropolitan area.

Transportation

This neighbourhood provides property owners with the choice between a variety of methods of transportation. Getting around by public transit is convenient in this neighbourhood. For instance, it is easy to reach a nearby rapid transit station, including Sperling-Burnaby Lake Station @ Platform 2 and Sperling-Burnaby Lake Station @ Platform 1 with access to the Millennium Line, from most houses in the neighbourhood. There are a few bus lines traversing the neighbourhood, and bus stops are generally around the corner. On the other hand, traveling by foot is not very common in Burnaby Lake, although many daily errands can be run without a vehicle. Burnaby Lake is rather cycling-friendly since the cycling infrastructure is reasonably good. Cars are also an excellent mode of transportation in Burnaby Lake. The majority of real estate listings are a very short drive from the nearest highway, such as Trans-Canada Highway, and it is very convenient to access a place to park.

Services

Getting to the closest supermarket without a car is possible for some, but not all, house buyers in Burnaby Lake. There are also a few restaurants in this part of the city. When it comes to education, parents and their kids will appreciate that wherever their house is situated in this area, secondary schools are nearby. However, Burnaby Lake does not have any primary schools.

Character

There is an extensive selection of green spaces in Burnaby Lake. There are a few public green spaces close by for residents to unwind in, such as Burnaby Lk Sports Complex - East and Burnaby Lake Regional Nature Park, and they are very well-situated, which makes them very easy to access from a large number of locations in this area. It is relatively serene in this part of the city, thanks to the presence of very few people out and about on the streets.

Housing

In Burnaby Lake, about one quarter of dwellings are single detached homes, and the remaining properties are mainly large apartment buildings and small apartment buildings. This neighbourhood offers mainly two bedroom and three bedroom homes. Homeowners occupy about 70% of the units in Burnaby Lake whereas the rest are rented. Around 40% of homes in this neighbourhood were constructed in the 1990s, while many of the remaining buildings were constructed in the 1960s and the 1980s.
