Transportation

This neighbourhood is very car friendly. It is convenient to find a parking spot, and many real estate listings are a very short drive from the closest highway, such as Trans-Canada Highway. On the other hand, commuting by transit can be difficult in UDistrict due to the service's low frequency. Thankfully, the neighbourhood is served by a few bus lines, and most homes are very close to a bus stop. Travelling by foot in this part of Abbotsford is not very popular, even though meeting day-to-day needs is convenient by walking. Cycling is also difficult in UDistrict as riding is rendered strenuous by the often sloping topography, and the bicycling infrastructure is sometimes poor.

Services

It is a rather short walk to access schools and daycares from any location in UDistrict. At the primary level, both public and private schools can be found. When it comes to food, accessing the nearest grocery store on foot is possible for some, but not all, home buyers in UDistrict. Residents can enjoy a few restaurants and coffee shops as well.

Character

There is a fairly good selection of green spaces in UDistrict. Parks are very well-spread out and there are a few of them close by for residents to discover, making them easy to access from the majority of locations in this neighbourhood. Finally, thanks to the presence of few pedestrians, this area is relatively quiet, although there can be higher levels of noise for those who are near Trans-Canada Highway.

Housing

Small apartment buildings are the predominant housing type, representing around half of buildings in UDistrict, and the remaining dwellings are mainly duplexes and single detached homes. This area offers mainly four or more bedroom and two bedroom homes. Homeowners occupy around two thirds of the units in UDistrict and the rest are rented. Roughly 30% of homes in this neighbourhood were built in the 1990s, while most of the remaining buildings were constructed in the 1960s and the 1980s.
