Located in the Abbotsford - Mission metropolitan area, UDistrict is a neighbourhood within Abbotsford, British Columbia.

Transportation

Driving is a great transportation option in this neighbourhood. Coming across a place to park is generally easy, and many real estate listings are a very short drive from the closest highway, such as Trans-Canada Highway. On the other hand, commuting by public transit is challenging in UDistrict. Thankfully, there are a few bus lines passing through the neighbourhood, and the closest bus stop is typically very close by. Traveling on foot is not very common in UDistrict, although many daily needs can be met without a car. Commuting by bicycle is also occasionally difficult in UDistrict as bike riders are faced with a significant amount of slopes, and the bicycling infrastructure is sometimes poor. Nonetheless, there is a fairly high density of cyclists.

Services

Families will welcome the proximity to daycares and schools, which are within a short distance from vast majority homes for sale in UDistrict. Parents benefit from public and private primary schools. Concerning food, reaching the closest supermarket without a vehicle is possible for some, but not all, house buyers in UDistrict. On the other hand, a cafe is usually a rather short walk away, and there are also a few restaurants in this area. Home buyers have access to a good number of clothing stores within walking distance.

Character

Home buyers who prefer a calm ambience will enjoy UDistrict. This part of the city is quiet, as the streets are usually quite tranquil - however noise can be an issue near Trans-Canada Highway. Finally, public green spaces are very well-distributed and there are a few of them nearby for residents to discover, which results in them being easy to access from the majority of locations in UDistrict.

Housing

In UDistrict, around half of dwellings are small apartment buildings, whereas the rest are mainly duplexes and single detached homes. This part of Abbotsford is primarily composed of four or more bedroom and two bedroom homes. Homeowners occupy roughly two thirds of the dwellings in UDistrict while the rest are rented. The homes in this neighbourhood are very new, since about 30% of its buildings were built in the 1990s, while many of the remaining buildings were built in the 1960s and the 1980s.
