The borough of Le Sud-Ouest is part of the city of Montréal, Quebec, which is located in the Greater Montreal metropolitan area.

Transportation

This area will draw property owners that value a diversity of modes of transportation. Thanks to plenty of nearby rapid transit stations with access to the Ligne 1 - Verte and Ligne 2 - Orange, and over 50 nearby bus lines, Le Sud-Ouest is an extremely pleasant part of Montréal for getting around by public transit. This borough will also appeal to people who want to be in a community that's walkable as it is especially geared to getting around on foot; running daily errands is very easy without the use of a vehicle, and a good number of businesses of different types can be found as well. This area will draw physically active people as it is moderately suitable for bicycling. For instance, the bicycling infrastructure is reasonably good, and the topography is reasonably flat.

Services

It is very easy to get to both a general and a specialty grocery store as a pedestrian from any location in this part of the city. There are approximately 20 supermarkets in Le Sud-Ouest, and the best variety can be found on streets such as Avenue Atwater. Moreover, there is commonly a restaurant or cafe in close proximity. As far as education is concerned, in Le Sud-Ouest, parents and their children will generally be able to access schools and daycares as pedestrians.

Character

No matter what type of character home buyers prefer in a borough, Le Sud-Ouest is a good option. Finding bustling places in this area is easy. Despite the fact that few entertainment venues can be found nearby, there are a very large number of people around most of the time, and with its approximately 10 bars, there are options for nighttime activities. Most areas in Le Sud-Ouest are reasonably quiet, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamour, however some parts can be quite noisy, especially closer to one of the railway lines, Autoroute Bonaventure or Autoroute du Souvenir. The greenery in this area is reasonably prominent as numerous streets have good tree coverage. There are over 50 public green spaces nearby for residents to unwind in, including Parc Ignace-Bourget and Parc Aqueduc de Montréal, and they are very well-located, which makes them very easy to reach.

Housing

In Le Sud-Ouest, the majority of buildings are small apartment buildings, while large apartment buildings and duplexes are also present in the housing stock. This part of the city is primarily composed of one bedroom and two bedroom homes. Roughly two thirds of the units in the borough are occupied by renters while the rest are occupied by owners. About 40% of homes in this borough were built pre-1960, while the majority of the remaining buildings were constructed in the 1960s and the 1980s.
