The borough of Le Sud-Ouest can be found in the city of Montréal, Quebec, which is located in the Greater Montreal metropolitan area.

Transportation

This part of the city provides home buyers with several alternative means of transportation. This area has an excellent public transit infrastructure. Rapid transit stations, including Charlevoix Station, Georges-Vanier Station and Angrignon Station with access to the Ligne 1 - Verte and Ligne 2 - Orange, are not very far away from the majority of residences in the borough. Train stations, such as the Hibernia, Canal Lachine and Paco on the 15 - Mascouche, are not very far-removed from the greater part of houses in the borough. The borough is served by over 50 bus lines, and bus stops are generally nearby. Physically active house buyers will also welcome the very walk-friendly nature of Le Sud-Ouest; all daily errands can be run without having to resort to a car, and a fair number of businesses of different types can be found as well. Riding a bike is common in this area as Le Sud-Ouest has a good cycling infrastructure, and there are a limited number of elevation changes for cyclists to brave.

Services

It is often practical for home buyers in Le Sud-Ouest to buy general and specialty groceries by walking. Avenue Atwater is among the best streets for food stores. Boulevard Monk is among the most active streets in this area. Most areas in Le Sud-Ouest are reasonably quiet, as there tend to be low levels of noise from traffic, although that is not the case close to one of the railway lines, Autoroute Ville-Marie or Autoroute du Souvenir. Greenery is quite present in this borough as there are numerous tree-lined streets. Getting to public green spaces from most locations within the borough, including Lieu Historique National du Canada du-Canal-de-Lachine and Parc Angrignon, is very easy since there are over 50 of them nearby for residents to enjoy.

Housing

Roughly two thirds of the units in the borough are occupied by renters while the rest are occupied by owners. In this part of Montréal, the majority of dwellings are small apartment buildings, and the rest are mainly large apartment buildings and duplexes. Around 40% of properties in this part of the city were constructed pre-1960, while most of the remaining buildings were built in the 1960s and the 1980s. This area offers mainly one bedroom and two bedroom homes.
