Valois is an extremely convenient part of Pointe-Claire for getting around by car. Parking is easy, and it is a very short drive to the nearest highway, such as Autoroute du Souvenir, from anywhere in Valois. On the other hand, residents using public transit may experience limited options in this part of the city by reason of the infrequent service. Thankfully, the closest train station, such as the Gare Valois with access to the 11 - Vaudreuil/Hudson, is commonly a short walk away from most homes in the neighbourhood. This neighbourhood is also good for those who enjoy a quiet atmosphere, as the streets are usually tranquil - although there are still several noisier sections, especially around one of the railway lines or Autoroute du Souvenir.

In Valois, the overwhelming majority of buildings are single detached homes, whereas the rest are mainly large apartment buildings. This area is primarily composed of two bedroom and three bedroom homes. Nearly 155% of the properties in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners whereas the remainder are rented. A majority of the housing growth in this area occurred pre-1960.
