The neighbourhood of Pointe Claire Village is part of the city of Pointe-Claire, Quebec, which is situated in the Greater Montreal metropolitan area.

Transportation

Commuting by car is very easy in Pointe Claire Village. Parking is generally easy, and many homes for sale are a very short drive from the closest highway, such as Autoroute du Souvenir. However, getting around by public transit is challenging in Pointe Claire Village. Nonetheless, house owners are served by a few bus lines, and bus stops are not very far from most properties. Cycling is popular in Pointe Claire Village as there are a good number of bike lanes. However, this area is not especially conducive to those who travel by foot because running daily errands is at times challenging without using a car.

Services

The closest supermarket in Pointe Claire Village is usually only a reasonably short walk away. A limited variety of restaurants and coffee shops is available as well. With respect to education, parents and their kids will welcome that no matter where their property is located in this part of the city, primary schools and daycares are nearby. On the other hand, there are no high schools in this neighbourhood.

Character

Pointe Claire Village is a very good neighbourhood to buy a house in for those who prefer a relaxed atmosphere. Most areas in this part of the city are very quiet, as there are usually low levels of noise from traffic closer to Autoroute du Souvenir. Finally, this part of Pointe-Claire also features a fair amount of greenery as there are many tree-lined streets. Getting to parks, such as Parc Alexandre-Bourgeau, is easy from a lot of locations in the neighbourhood since there are a few of them close by for residents to explore.

Housing

In Pointe Claire Village, the majority of dwellings are single detached homes, while small apartment buildings are also present in the housing stock. This neighbourhood has a good choice of housing size options, ranging from lofts to four or more bedrooms. About two thirds of the population of this neighbourhood own their home and renters make up the remainder. This part of the city experienced its largest building boom pre-1960, so most of the available properties are from this time period.
