Meades Park

Meades Park is a neighbourhood within Kirkland, Quebec, which is situated in the Greater Montreal metropolitan area.

Transportation

The car is usually the best means of transportation in Meades Park. It is very convenient to park, and the majority of homes for sale are a rather short car ride from the closest highway, such as Autoroute Félix-Leclerc. However, the transit system in this area is rather poor. Nevertheless, there are a few bus lines, and it is very easy to reach a nearby bus stop from most residences. It is sometimes difficult to commute by bike in Meades Park since there are few bike lanes. Nonetheless, riding is made easier by the generally flat terrain. Traveling as a pedestrian is also not very popular in Meades Park, despite the fact that running daily errands is easy without needing to use a car.

Services

Some, but not all, property owners in Meades Park will live within a short distance of the closest grocery store. Residents benefit from a few restaurants and coffee shops as well. In terms of education, families will find that wherever their house is located in this area, both primary and secondary schools are close by. However, daycares are not particularly numerous and therefore may require a long walk to get to.

Character

Meades Park offers a slower-paced environment and will appeal to those who enjoy spending time outdoors. Most areas in this part of Kirkland are very quiet, as there are low levels of noise from traffic. Lastly, there is a fair amount of greenery in this area as numerous tree-lined streets are around. There are a few public green spaces close by for residents to relax in and they are especially well-spread out, making it easy to access them from many locations within the neighbourhood.

Housing

In Meades Park, around three quarters of dwellings are single detached homes, while large apartment buildings make up most of the remaining housing stock. A majority of the housing growth in this neighbourhood occurred in the 1960s and 1970s. This neighbourhood offers mainly three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes. Around 85% of the units in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners while renters occupy the remainder.
