The neighbourhood of Lakeside can be found in the city of Pointe-Claire, Quebec, which is situated in the Greater Montreal metropolitan area.

Transportation

Driving is a great mode of transportation in this area. It is especially convenient to find a parking spot, and most properties for sale are a short drive from the nearest highway, such as Autoroute du Souvenir. However, this area is not very transit friendly. Nevertheless, the neighbourhood is served by a few bus lines, and it is very convenient to reach a nearby bus stop from most residences. Walking is not very practical for home buyers in Lakeside since carrying out daily needs is at times difficult without the use of a car. Although there is a quite high density of cyclists, and certain enjoyable pockets for cycling exist, Lakeside is also not particularly suited for cycling as there are a good number of elevation changes, and there are few bike lanes.

Services

It is a rather short walk to get to primary schools from most properties for sale in this area. In contrast, Lakeside does not contain any high schools. As far as food is concerned, it is very rarely feasible for home buyers in this part of the city to shop for groceries on foot. Residents of Lakeside can enjoy a few restaurants.

Character

Lakeside is a very good neighbourhood to buy a home in for those who prefer a calm ambience. This part of Pointe-Claire is very quiet, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamour - although that is not the case close to Autoroute du Souvenir. Finally, there is a fair amount of greenery in this neighbourhood as there are numerous tree-lined streets. Green spaces are easy to access since there are a few of them nearby for residents to check out.

Housing

The predominant housing types in Lakeside are single detached homes and townhouses. Most homes in this area were built before the 1960s, during its largest construction boom. This part of the city is primarily composed of three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes. Around 80% of the units in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners and the rest are rented.
