Transportation

Driving is very often the best method to navigate this neighbourhood. It is a very short drive to the nearest highway, such as Autoroute du Souvenir, from anywhere in Lakeside, and parking is generally easy. On the other hand, travelling by transit can be difficult in Lakeside as a result of the service's low frequency. Nonetheless, there are a few bus lines passing through the neighbourhood, and bus stops are not very far away from most properties. Despite the fact that some pleasant sectors for cycling can be found, Lakeside is not very cycling-friendly as there are a good number of hills for cyclists to brave, and the bicycling infrastructure is not especially comprehensive. It is also impractical for people walking to navigate this part of Pointe-Claire as daily errands are at times difficult to run on foot.

Services

Concerning eating, it is sometimes possible for house buyers in Lakeside to shop for their groceries on foot. There are a few restaurants in this part of the city.

Character

Lastly, this neighbourhood is relatively serene, due to the presence of very few pedestrians.

Housing

The large proportion of single detached homes in the housing stock of Lakeside is an important part of its character. A majority of the housing growth in this neighbourhood took place before the 1960s. This part of the city offers mainly three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes. Roughly 85% of the population of this neighbourhood own their home while renters make up the remainder.
