Fairview is a neighbourhood in the Greater Montreal metropolitan area, which is located in the province of Quebec, Canada.

Transportation

The preferred way to navigate this neighbourhood is usually a car. It is very easy to access a place to park, and most homes for sale are a short car ride from the nearest highway, such as Autoroute Félix-Leclerc. However, the public transit service in Fairview is not particularly frequent. Nonetheless, the neighbourhood is served by approximately 20 bus lines, and bus stops are not very far-removed from most properties. Cycling is occasionally challenging in Fairview because there are few bike lanes. Nonetheless, the topography is reasonably flat. Travelling by foot in Fairview is also not very popular, despite the fact that many day-to-day needs can be carried out without the use of a car.

Services

Property owners in Fairview will value that a grocery store is always only a reasonably short walk away. Moreover, those who like to dine in restaurants will have a fair number of options, and a limited variety of coffee shops is available as well. With regards to education, in Fairview, parents and their schoolchildren will usually be able to reach daycares on foot. However, high schools are not very plentiful in Fairview, and accordingly not always within walking distance, and there are no primary schools.

Character

There is a great variety of green spaces in Fairview. More specifically, green spaces, like Fariview Forest, are very well-spread out and there are about 10 of them nearby for residents to discover, which makes them easy to get to from most locations within the neighbourhood. However, the tree canopy coverage for most streets is fairly bad. Finally, this area is relatively quiet, as there are few pedestrians, although there can be higher levels of noise for those who are closer to the railway line or Autoroute Félix-Leclerc.

Housing

Single detached homes are the most common housing type, representing about half of dwellings in Fairview, while large apartment buildings and townhouses are also present in the housing stock. Roughly 45% of properties in this neighbourhood were constructed between 1960 and 1980, while many of the remaining buildings were constructed in the 1980s and the 1990s. This part of the city also has a good choice of housing sizes; it is quite easy to find homes ranging from lofts to four or more bedrooms.
