Driving is an excellent medium of transportation in this part of Gatineau. It is especially convenient to park, and it is a short car ride to the closest highway, such as Autoroute de la Gatineau, from any location in Hautes-Plaines. In contrast, the public transit system in this part of the city is not very convenient. Nonetheless, property owners benefit from about 10 bus lines, and the closest bus stop is usually very close. Although some bike-friendly pockets exist, and there is a high density of bike riders, this urban village is not especially appropriate for bicycling as there are a fair number of hills, and the cycling network is not particularly well-developed. A majority of the houses for sale in this area are located in places that are also not very well-suited for those who travel by foot as carrying out day-to-day needs is challenging by walking.
