The urban village of Hautes-Plaines can be found in the city of Gatineau, Quebec, which is located in the Ottawa - Gatineau metropolitan area.

Transportation

Driving is an excellent mode of transportation in this part of the city. It is very convenient to park, and nearby highways, such as Autoroute de la Gatineau, are especially easy to drive to from any location in Hautes-Plaines. However, the public transit network in this area is not very practical. Nevertheless, property owners have access to around 10 bus lines, and bus stops are not very far-removed from most residences. It is impractical for pedestrians to navigate Hautes-Plaines since very few day-to-day errands can be run without needing to resort to a car. However, this part of the city is reasonably conducive to biking since the bicycling network is fairly good.

Services

It is a rather short walk to reach daycares from anywhere in Hautes-Plaines. In contrast, families may find it very difficult to access primary schools and high schools as pedestrians.
