sector C

Part of the Greater Montreal metropolitan area, Sector C is a neighbourhood within Brossard, Quebec.

Transportation

Sector C is a very good part of Brossard for driving. It is convenient to access a place to park, and it is a reasonably short car ride to the nearest highway, such as Autoroute des Cantons-de-l'Est, from any location in sector C. On the other hand, sector C is not particularly transit friendly. Thankfully, there is Du Quartier on the Gare Centrale - Brossard. The neighbourhood is linked by around 10 bus lines, and bus stops are typically very close by. Sector C is rather suited for biking because the cycling network is reasonably good, and riding is facilitated by the generally flat terrain. However, there aren't many pedestrians out on the streets of this part of Brossard, even though running daily errands is convenient without needing to resort to a car.

Services

It is occasionally practical for home buyers in sector C to buy their groceries by foot. There are also a limited number of options for those who care about nearby restaurants and cafes. As far as education is concerned, in sector C, parents and their kids will typically be able to reach daycares by walking. However, there are only a few primary schools in this part of the city and thus they can be an extended walk away. Furthermore, sector C does not contain any high schools.

Character

The character of sector C is exemplified by its relaxed environment. This area is very quiet, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamour - although that is not the case closer to Autoroute de l'Acier or Autoroute des Cantons-de-l'Est. Finally, there is almost no greenery in this part of Brossard; however, parks are very well-distributed and there are a few of them close by for residents to visit, making it easy to get to them from the majority of locations in sector C.

Housing

In sector C, many dwellings are small apartment buildings, and the rest are mainly single detached homes and townhouses. This part of the city also has a good selection of housing sizes - it is quite easy to find houses ranging from lofts to four or more bedrooms. About two thirds of the population of this neighbourhood own their home and one third are renters. A majority of the housing growth in this neighbourhood has happened after the year 2000.
