Many of the homes for sale in this part of the city are located in places that are also quite convenient for walking; running daily errands is easy. Cars are a very good transportation option in this area. Parking is quite easy, and the majority of real estate listings are a short car ride from the closest highway, such as E C Row Expressway. On the other hand, Sandwich is not an especially pleasant part of Windsor for travelling by public transit. Thankfully, there are a few bus lines traversing the neighbourhood, and most residences are very close to a bus stop.

However, daycares are not especially plentiful and consequently not always within walking distance. With respect to eating, a portion of house buyers in this area may have the option to buy their groceries on foot, while others will need another means of transportation. There are also about 30 restaurants and coffee shops in Sandwich.

Character

People who prefer a calm atmosphere will enjoy Sandwich. This part of Windsor is quiet, as there are generally low levels of noise from traffic - although that is not the case closer to E C Row Expressway or the railway line. Finally, the majority of locations in the neighbourhood have good access to public green spaces, such as Mic Mac and Malden, since there are around 10 of them close by for residents to enjoy.

Housing

In Sandwich, about half of buildings are single detached homes, and the rest of the properties are mainly large apartment buildings and small apartment buildings. This neighbourhood is primarily composed of three bedroom and two bedroom homes. About 60% of the dwellings in the neighbourhood are occupied by renters and owners occupy the remainder. Roughly 45% of properties in this area were constructed pre-1960, while many of the remaining buildings were built in the 1960s.
