Part of the Greater Toronto Area metropolitan area, Woburn is a neighbourhood within Toronto, Ontario.

Transportation

This neighbourhood will draw homeowners that value a diversity of modes of transportation. Commuting by public transit is easy in this part of the city. More specifically, residents benefit from around 20 bus lines, and it is very easy to find a nearby bus stop from most properties. Woburn is also reasonably suitable for walking; running day-to-day errands is easy, and there are also a good number of businesses in proximity. Despite the fact that some bicycling-friendly pockets exist, it is sometimes difficult to move around by bike in Woburn since the area is not especially flat, and the cycling network is not particularly well-developed.

Services

It is easy to access both a general and a specialty grocery store on foot from any home in Woburn. Residents can enjoy over 50 restaurants and coffee shops as well. With regards to education, schools and daycares are easy to access on foot from anywhere in Woburn. Along with public schools, there are private primary and secondary schools.

Character

The character of Woburn is exemplified by its slower-paced atmosphere. Greenery is reasonably prominent in this neighbourhood as the tree canopy coverage for numerous streets is fairly good. There are about 30 parks nearby for residents to explore, like Woodsworth Park and East Highland Creek Watercourse, and they are very well-distributed, which makes them very easy to access. This part of Toronto is also quiet, as the streets are generally calm - however some areas can be quite noisy, especially close to Highway 401.

Roughly one third of properties in Woburn were built between 1960 and 1980, while many of the remaining buildings were built pre-1960 and in the 1990s. In this neighbourhood, about 60% of dwellings are large apartment buildings, but single detached homes are also present in the housing stock. The proportions of renters and homeowners are about even.
