West Humber

West Humber is a neighbourhood within Toronto, Ontario, which is situated in the Greater Toronto Area metropolitan area.

Transportation

West Humber is a fairly pleasant part of Toronto for travelling by public transit due to Etobicoke North with access to the Kitchener, and approximately 20 nearby bus lines. However, getting around on foot is not very common in this part of the city, despite the fact that carrying out daily needs is easy without a car. West Humber is not very bike-friendly since there are a fair number of elevation changes, and the bicycling network is fairly poor. Nonetheless, some pleasant sectors for bicycling can be found. In contrast, moving around by car is very convenient in West Humber. Parking is quite easy, and many real estate listings are a very short drive from the nearest highway, such as Highway 427.

Services

Primary schools are easy to get to on foot from most houses for sale in this part of Toronto. On the other hand, high schools are not especially numerous and accordingly not always within a short distance. Families benefit from public and private high schools. As far as eating is concerned, getting to the closest grocery store without a vehicle is possible for some, but not all, house buyers in West Humber. Residents are served by over 50 restaurants and coffee shops as well.

Character

There is a great variety of green spaces in West Humber. To be more precise, most locations in the neighbourhood have reasonably good access to public green spaces, including North Mimico Valley Park and Royal Woodbine Golf Club, since there are approximately 30 of them close by for residents to discover. However, the tree canopy coverage for most streets is quite bad. This neighbourhood is a great neighbourhood for those who aren't bothered by some noise, as during busy hours, traffic can occasionally be bothersome.

Housing

In West Humber, the majority of buildings are single detached homes, but duplexes are also present in the housing stock. This area offers mainly four or more bedroom and three bedroom homes. Homeowners occupy roughly 80% of the units in West Humber and 20% are rented. About 40% of homes in this neighbourhood were constructed prior to the 1960s, while the majority of the remaining buildings were constructed in the 1960s and the 1990s.
