Playter Estates

The neighbourhood of Playter Estates is part of the city of Toronto, Ontario, which is situated in the Greater Toronto Area metropolitan area.

Transportation

This neighbourhood provides property owners with several alternative methods of transportation. Playter Estates features an excellent transit system. In particular, rapid transit stations, including Broadview Station - Westbound Platform and Broadview Station - Eastbound Platform with access to the Line 2 (Bloor - Danforth), are ordinarily around the corner from the bulk of houses in the neighbourhood. The neighbourhood is connected by a few bus lines, and bus stops are typically around the corner. Playter Estates is also very convenient for those who travel by foot; most daily needs can be met without a car, and a fair number of businesses of different types can be found as well. Active people will value the bike-friendly nature of this part of Toronto. More specifically, Playter Estates is home to good cycling infrastructure, and a bike share station is always located in close proximity.

Services

It is especially convenient to access both a general and a specialty grocery store without a car from anywhere in this area. In addition, this part of Toronto is a fairly good place in which to go out to eat or go to a cafe, for instance along Danforth Avenue. Concerning education, it is a very short stroll to access schools and daycares from most properties for sale in Playter Estates. Families are served by public and private primary schools.

Character

Playter Estates has a character that appeals to a fairly diverse group of people. This part of the city has many places to explore. Even though there are relatively few nearby entertainment venues, the streets are very often busy with people, and places to go out at night are well-spread throughout the neighbourhood. Playter Estates is quiet, as there tend to be low levels of noise from traffic, although that is not the case around the railway line or Don Valley Parkway. Greenery is reasonably present in this area as many tree-lined streets are around. Public green spaces, including Lower Don Parklands, are especially well-located and there are a few of them close by for residents to discover, making them very easy to get to.

Housing

In Playter Estates, about half of buildings are large apartment buildings, and the rest of the properties are mainly small apartment buildings, single detached homes, and townhouses. Roughly 45% of properties in this neighbourhood were built pre-1960, while the majority of the remaining buildings were constructed in the 1960s. This part of Toronto offers mainly two bedroom and one bedroom homes. Renters occupy roughly two thirds of the properties in Playter Estates and owners occupy the remainder.
