The neighbourhood of Downsview is part of the city of Toronto, Ontario, which is located in the Greater Toronto Area metropolitan area.

Transportation

Regardless of the mode of transportation, it is reasonably easy to get around in Downsview. Downsview is quite transit friendly. In particular, property owners are served by Downsview Park Station - Southbound Platform and Downsview Park Station - Northbound Platform on the Line 1 (Yonge-University). There is the Downsview Park on the Barrie. The neighbourhood is served by about 20 bus lines, and bus stops are not very far from most properties. Most houses for sale in this part of Toronto are located in places that are also quite well-suited for those who travel by foot; many daily needs can be met by walking. Downsview is reasonably cycling-friendly.

Services

Home buyers in this part of the city will be pleased to learn that a grocery store is always only a rather short walk away. A small variety of restaurants and cafes is available as well. As far as education is concerned, parents and their schoolchildren will appreciate that wherever their house is located in Downsview, daycares and schools are nearby. Besides public schools, there are private primary and secondary schools.

Character

Downsview offers a relaxed atmosphere and will appeal to home buyers who enjoy spending time outdoors. This area features a fair amount of greenery; accessing parks, including Oakdale Golf and Country Club and Roding Park, is very easy from the majority of locations in the neighbourhood since there are about 30 of them nearby for residents to visit. Moreover, residents will find that the tree canopy coverage for many streets is good. Most areas in this neighbourhood are quiet, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamour - although that is not the case close to Highway 400, Highway 401 or the railway line.

Roughly 30% of dwellings are large apartment buildings, making it easy to find apartments in Downsview, while small apartment buildings, single detached homes, and townhouses are also present in the housing stock.
