Centre Island

The neighbourhood of Centre Island can be found in the city of Toronto, Ontario, which is situated in the Greater Toronto Area metropolitan area.

Transportation

Cars are a very good transportation option in Centre Island. It is especially convenient to park. On the other hand, this area is not very transit friendly. Walking is not very convenient for property owners in this neighbourhood because daily errands are very inconvenient to run on foot. However, biking is easy in Centre Island because there are a limited number of hills.

Services

Property owners in this part of Toronto almost always have to use a vehicle to travel to the closest supermarket. A small number of restaurants are available in this area as well. In terms of education, it is a rather short walk to get to daycares from most properties for sale in Centre Island. On the other hand, there are no primary schools and no high schools in this part of the city.

Character

The character of Centre Island is exemplified by its relaxed environment. There is a very large amount of greenery in this part of the city as there are a lot of tree-lined streets. It is very easy to get to green spaces from most locations in the neighbourhood since there are approximately 10 of them nearby for residents to check out. This neighbourhood is also quiet, as the streets tend to be reasonably calm - although there are still several noisier sections, especially closer to the airport (YTZ).

Housing

In Centre Island, almost all dwellings are single detached homes, while the rest are mainly townhouses. Most of the housing growth in this part of the city occurred before the 1960s. This neighbourhood also has a good selection of unit sizes; it is quite easy to find properties ranging from lofts to four or more bedrooms. Homeowners occupy around 85% of the dwellings in Centre Island and 15% are occupied by renters.
