Located within the St. Catharines - Niagara metropolitan area, Virgil is a neighbourhood within Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario.

Transportation

Driving is a very good transportation option in this part of the town. It is very convenient to park. In contrast, the public transit network in this part of the town is quite poor. Nonetheless, the neighbourhood is linked by a few bus lines. Virgil is not very convenient for walking since carrying out daily needs is impractical. Even though it is a flat ride to most locations, the bicycle is a somewhat poor mode of transportation in Virgil as the cycling infrastructure is rather limited.

Services

It is a rather short walk to reach primary schools from any location in Virgil. In contrast, Virgil does not contain any high schools. Families are served by public and private primary schools. When it comes to food, reaching the closest grocery store by walking is practical for some, but not all, house buyers in Virgil. There are also a few restaurants and cafes in this part of the town.

Character

Home buyers who prefer a calm ambience will enjoy Virgil. Most areas in this area are very quiet, as there are generally low levels of noise from traffic. The predominance of single detached homes in the housing stock of this neighbourhood is an important part of its character.
