North Richvale is a neighbourhood within Richmond Hill, Ontario, which is located in the Greater Toronto Area metropolitan area.

Transportation

North Richvale is quite bike-friendly. It is also convenient for people travelling on foot to navigate this neighbourhood; many daily needs can be carried out by walking. Driving is often the best mode of transportation in this part of Richmond Hill. It is convenient to park. However, the public transit network in North Richvale is not particularly practical. Nevertheless, the nearest rapid transit station, including Yonge / Major MacKenzie, Yonge / 16th-Carrville and Yonge / Weldrick with access to the Viva Blue, is commonly within walking distance from most homes in the neighbourhood. Homeowners are served by approximately 10 bus lines, and it is very convenient to find a nearby bus stop from most homes.

Services

Parents and their kids will find that wherever their home is situated in this neighbourhood, schools and daycares are close by. Along with public schools, there are private elementary and secondary schools. As far as eating is concerned, some, but not all, home buyers in North Richvale will live within walking distance of the closest grocery store. A small selection of restaurants and cafes is available as well.

Character

North Richvale is a fairly good neighbourhood to buy a home in for those who prefer a calm ambience. Public green spaces are easy to get to since there are about 10 of them close by for residents to discover. The noise levels in this part of the town are also low, as the streets tend to be calm.

Housing

Homeowners occupy around 80% of the units in the neighbourhood and renters occupy the remainder. Single detached homes are the main housing type, representing roughly half of dwellings in this area, but large apartment buildings are also present in the housing stock. About one third of properties in this neighbourhood were built in the 1980s, while many of the remaining buildings were constructed in the 1960s and the 1990s.
