The neighbourhood of Vars can be found in the city of Ottawa, Ontario, which is situated in the Ottawa - Gatineau metropolitan area.

Transportation

Vars is very car friendly. It is especially convenient to park. In contrast, travelling by public transit is very hard in Vars. Nevertheless, the neighbourhood is linked by a few bus lines. Most houses for sale in this part of Ottawa are located in places that are not very conducive to walking because meeting daily needs is very inconvenient. The bicycle is a rather poor mode of transportation in Vars as there are few bike lanes, and there are a fair number of hills.

Services

There are only a very small number of primary schools in this area and accordingly they can be a very long walk away. In addition, Vars does not contain any high schools. Furthermore, it can be very difficult to reach daycares on foot. As far as food is concerned, it is very rarely feasible for home buyers in this neighbourhood to purchase their groceries by walking.

Character

Vars is reasonably quiet overall, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamour - although there are still several noisier areas, especially around the railway line or Highway 417. It is rather challenging to get to public green spaces in the neighbourhood since they are spread out sporadically. Still, there are a few parks nearby for residents to discover.

The large percentage of single detached homes in the housing stock of Vars is an important part of its character.
