Part of the Ottawa - Gatineau metropolitan area, Cumberland is a neighbourhood within Ottawa, Ontario.

Transportation

Driving is an excellent transportation option in Cumberland. It is especially convenient to access a place to park. In contrast, the public transit service in Cumberland is not very frequent. Nevertheless, there are a few bus lines, and bus stops are ordinarily nearby. Cumberland is not very convenient for walking since almost no common errands can be run on foot. Bicycling is also difficult in this neighbourhood because the cycling network is quite bad, and there are a fair number of slopes.

Services

There are no high schools and no primary schools in this neighbourhood. When it comes to food, it is very rarely feasible for house buyers in Cumberland to buy their groceries on foot.

Character

The character of Cumberland is exemplified by its calm atmosphere. This area is very quiet, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamour. Finally, most locations within the neighbourhood have reasonably good access to green spaces, including Cumberland Village Heritage Museum and Wilfred Murray Park / R.J. Kennedy Community Hall and Arena, since there are about 10 of them close by for residents to visit and the majority of homes for sale have a park nearby.

Housing

In Cumberland, the vast majority of dwellings are single detached homes, while duplexes are the main alternative in the housing stock. This area is primarily composed of three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes. Homeowners occupy roughly 90% of the units in the neighbourhood while the remainder are rented.
