Munster

Located within the Ottawa - Gatineau metropolitan area, Munster is a neighbourhood in Ottawa, Ontario.

Transportation

Driving is a great medium of transportation in this part of the city. Finding a parking spot is quite easy. Munster is not very conducive to walking because almost no daily errands can be run on foot. This area is also not very appropriate for biking because the cycling network is not very extensive, and there are a fair number of slopes for cyclists to brave.

Services

Munster does not contain any high schools or primary schools. Likewise, parents may consider it very hard for their kids to get to daycares as a pedestrian. With respect to eating, purchasing one's groceries usually demands the use of a vehicle in Munster.

Character

Munster is reasonably quiet, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamour - however some areas can be quite noisy, especially closer to Highway 7. Accessing parks is rather challenging in the neighbourhood since they are distributed sporadically. Despite that, there are about 10 public green spaces close by for residents to unwind in.

Housing

The housing stock of Munster is composed primarily of single detached homes and row houses. About one quarter of properties in this area were constructed following the year 2000, while many of the remaining buildings were built pre-1960 and in the 1960s. This area offers mainly four or more bedroom and three bedroom homes. Roughly 90% of the population of this neighbourhood own their home whereas renters make up the remainder.
