The neighbourhood of Carp is part of the city of Ottawa, Ontario, which is located in the Ottawa - Gatineau metropolitan area.

Transportation

Cars are a very good medium of transportation in Carp. Parking is generally easy. On the other hand, getting around by transit can be difficult in Carp by reason of the low service level. Nevertheless, the neighbourhood is served by a few bus lines, and bus stops are not very far away from most homes. Carp is appropriate for bicycling. Many of the homes for sale in this part of Ottawa are located in places that are not very suitable for those who travel by foot because very few daily needs can be met without having to resort to a vehicle.

Services

It is a rather short walk to access primary schools from anywhere in this area. In contrast, there are no high schools in this part of the city. Parents benefit from public and private primary schools. In terms of food, it is very rarely possible for property owners in Carp to access the nearest supermarket on foot. A limited variety of restaurants is available in this part of Ottawa as well.

Character

The character of Carp is exemplified by its slower-paced environment. This area is very quiet, as there are generally low levels of noise from traffic - however some parts can be quite loud, especially around the airport (Ottawa / Carp Airport), Highway 417, Highway 7 or the railway line. Finally, most locations within the neighbourhood have reasonably good access to public green spaces, such as Hidden Lake Park and South March Highlands Conservation Forest - Rural Portion, since there are approximately 10 of them nearby for residents to unwind in and getting to the closest park is easy from numerous properties.

Housing

The sizeable proportion of single detached homes in the housing stock of Carp is an important part of its character.
