Gateway

Gateway is a neighbourhood within Mississauga, Ontario, which is situated in the Greater Toronto Area metropolitan area.

Transportation

The fairly good public transit access allows people to get to many destinations without needing a vehicle by reason of about 10 nearby bus lines. On the other hand, the bike is a somewhat poor method of transportation in this part of Mississauga since the bicycling infrastructure is not very extensive, and the topography is not especially flat. Thankfully, a few pleasant areas for cycling exist. There aren't many pedestrians out on the streets of Gateway, although many daily needs can be met by walking. In contrast, the favoured transportation option in this neighbourhood is usually a car. Coming across a place to park is generally easy, and most real estate listings are a short car ride from the nearest highway, such as Highway 403.

Services

The closest supermarket in Gateway is typically only a reasonably short walk away. There are also a limited number of opportunities for those who care about restaurants and cafes in close proximity. Concerning education, secondary schools and daycares are easy to reach on foot from anywhere in this neighbourhood. In contrast, primary schools are not particularly numerous and therefore not always within walking distance. Parents are served by public and private secondary schools.

Character

There are a lot of green spaces to enjoy in Gateway. Parks, like Dunton Athletic Fields and Derry West Greenbelt, are very well-distributed and there are around 10 of them nearby for residents to check out, resulting in them being easy to get to from most locations within Gateway. It is relatively calm in this neighbourhood, due to the presence of very few pedestrians.

Housing

In Gateway, roughly 45% of dwellings are single detached homes, while townhouses make up most of the remaining housing stock. The buildings in this neighbourhood are very new, because around half of its dwellings were built after the year 2000, while the majority of the remaining buildings were constructed in the 1990s. This area is particularly good for those looking for four or more bedroom homes. Around 85% of the population of this neighbourhood own their home and the rest are renters.
