The neighbourhood of Grandview can be found in the city of Markham, Ontario, which is located in the Greater Toronto Area metropolitan area.

Transportation

This area presents homeowners with several alternative methods of transportation. Grandview is reasonably transit friendly. For instance, it is easy to reach a nearby rapid transit station, such as Yonge / Steeles on the blue | VIVA BLUE, from most properties in the neighbourhood. The neighbourhood is connected by around 10 bus lines, and most homes are very close to a bus stop. This area will also draw physically active house buyers because it is reasonably suitable for those who travel by foot; many common errands can be run without the use of a car, and many businesses are nearby. Moving around by bicycle is challenging in Grandview since the cycling network is not very comprehensive, and there is a significant amount of slopes.

Services

Both general and specialty grocery stores are usually accessible within a reasonably short walk from anywhere in this part of the city. In addition, those who like to dine in restaurants will have a fair number of opportunities, and a limited selection of coffee shops is available as well. Residents benefit from a fair number of nearby clothing stores. As far as education is concerned, it is a short walk to access both primary and secondary schools from any location in Grandview. However, it can be challenging to reach daycares as a pedestrian.

Character

Grandview offers a relaxed environment and will appeal to those who enjoy spending time outdoors. Getting to parks is easy in the neighbourhood since there are a few of them nearby for residents to visit. Most areas in this part of Markham are reasonably quiet, as the streets tend to be calm - although that is not the case closer to the railway line.

Housing

In Grandview, roughly half of dwellings are large apartment buildings, while single detached homes make up most of the remaining housing stock. This neighbourhood is primarily composed of four or more bedroom and one bedroom homes. The proportions of renters and homeowners are about even. The homes in this neighbourhood are quite new, because roughly 45% of its dwellings were built after the year 2000, while most of the remaining buildings were constructed pre-1960 and in the 1960s.
