Highbury

The neighbourhood of Highbury can be found in the city of London, Ontario, which is situated in the Greater London metropolitan area.

Transportation

The best transportation option in this area is very often a car. It is especially convenient to find a place to park, and nearby highways, such as Highway 401, are very easy to drive to from any home in Highbury. On the other hand, travelling by public transit is very hard in Highbury. Thankfully, homeowners have access to a few bus lines, and it is convenient to get to a nearby bus stop from most properties. A majority of the houses for sale in this area are located in places that are not very well-suited for walking because very few daily errands can be run without needing to resort to a car. Even though cycling is better in some sectors than others, and there are a limited number of slopes, it is also challenging to get around by bike in Highbury since this neighbourhood is home to a fairly poor bicycling infrastructure.

Services

This part of the city does not contain any high schools or primary schools. Furthermore, parents may find it very hard for their children to get to daycares on foot. As far as eating is concerned, in all cases, a vehicle is required to shop for groceries. A small number of restaurants and cafes are available.

Character

Highbury offers a broad selection of green spaces to enjoy. There are a few green spaces nearby for residents to relax in, making it very easy to get to them. Noise can sometimes be an issue in this area, as traffic during rush hour can occasionally be bothersome.

Housing

Homeowners occupy nearly 180% of the units in Highbury and the rest are rented. The large proportion of single detached homes in the housing stock of this part of the city is an important part of its character. The homes in this neighbourhood are quite old, because the vast majority of its dwellings were built after the year 2000, while many of the remaining buildings were constructed pre-1960 and in the 1960s. However this part of London is especially good for those looking for three bedroom homes.
